Pro Mod News

2006 marked the first year for the new ECPRA Pro Mod racing class.  The new class stumbled a little coming off the lights in its first run and returned to the pits to retune for another go in 2007.  In the true spirit of racing, these guys refused to give up, and have been hard at work to make sure that the Pro Mod's come back stronger and faster than ever in 2007.  Right now several cars are being prepped for the 207 ECPRA season, and the future is looking bright.

One pro mod driver who's turning heads while getting ready for next year is Nathan Lee.   With the help of a Dave Kawell built engine and a Larry Westmoreland transmission, Nathan's "Tuff" beetle is reining in some serious ponies and the numbers he's putting down so far are quite impressive.   His recent 5.86s/122mph pass at Capitol Raceway was quite impressive, but Nathan insists that he is just warming up.  He feels that with some more time in the drivers seat, and some additional boost, the car should be capable of 5.70 or even 5.60 times.   Nathan also added that even the 5.86s run could have been faster but the car loosened up a little on the back end.   So, look for some real excitement in the Pro Mod class in 2007, and keep an eye on Nathan Lee to see just how fast that tuff little bug can go.
