Silver Dollar Shootout #6 2008 ECPRA Pro Stock Season Opener

A field of six was in attendance for this year's pro stock season opener.  Ed & Tay with their sweet fast back, Alan Fore with his killer notch, and Damon Harmon, Olly Frey, Denis Elliot, and Lee Street all with their big bad bugs.  Despite the Silver Dollar team's best efforts to prepare the track, traction problems seemed to plague the season opener again this year.  But that didn't stop the teams from battling it out.  With the new spec fuel rules in place, the records are reset, so a fastest time of the day counts as a new record.  In the second round of qualifying Damon Harmon overcame the traction woes and laid down a 6.04 securing the top qualifying spot and a new record as he backed it up in the first elimination round against Olly Frey who had apparent mechanical problems off and on throughout the day.  Also in round one, Denis Elliot took the win over Tay who seemed to be having transmission problems.  In the third matchup Alan Fore ran a 6.54 to beat out Lee Street who brought home a 7.01.  But in the process, Alan broke something and was unable to make the call for the semi-finals.  As a result Damon and Denis advanced directly to the finals where Denis fouled during staging giving Damon the automatic win.
